Yara is a fictional werewolf and a minor character featured in The Howling film series. Played by Australian actress Carole Skinner, she had a brief role in the 1987 film The Howling III: The Marsupials.
Yara was a marsupial werewolf who lived on a special commune in the Australian outback. Along with two others, she was charged with retrieving a young woman named Jerboa who had left the commune. She dressed up as a nun and raided a party hosted by film maker Jack Citron. Yara and her friends eventually found Jerboa and brought her back to the commune.

- The character of Yara was created by writer and director Philippe Mora based on concepts originally developed by author Gary Brandner.
- It is unclear whether Yara was actually a member of the clergy, or was merely dressing the part.
- Yara was one of three werewolves who dressed up as nuns for Jack Citron's party. The other two were Bahloo and Goolah.
- Playing the role of Yara is actress Carole Skinner's first work in the horror genre.
