Wolf Rilla was a German film director. He was born in Berlin, Germany on March 16th, 1920. Wolf's most notable contribution to the field of speculative fiction was adapting John Wyndham's 1957 novel The Midwich Cuckoos into a film in 1960, which was titled Village of the Damned. Wolf also wrote the screenplay for the film.

Wolf Rilla passed away in Provence, France on October 19th, 2005 at the age of 85.
