The Warlock film series is a series of three movies revolving around an evil warlock and the subject of witchcraft, the occult and mysticism. All three movies are produced by American studios between 1989 and 1999. The first two were released theatrically, while the last one was released direct-to-video. The first film, Warlock, was directed by Steve Miner and written by D.T. Twohy. It was produced by New World Pictures and starred Julian Sands as the unnamed antagonist. Sands reprised the role of the warlock for the film's first sequel, Warlock: The Armageddon, which was released in 1993. The movie was directed by Anthony Hickox and written by Kevin Rock and Sam Bernard. A third film, Warlock: The End of Innocence was released direct-to-video in 1999. This film featured an altogether different warlock played by Bruce Payne. His character's name was Phillip Covington.
