It is based on the Virus comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics. The film was produced by Dark Horse Entertainment and the Mutual Film Company and released through Universal Pictures. The movie stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Kit Foster, with William Baldwin as Steve Baker, Donald Sutherland as Captain Robert Everton, and Joanna Pacula as Nadia.
