Ving Rhames is an American actor born in New York City, New York on May 12th, 1959. His first major work in the horror genre was playing a character named Leroy in the 1991 Wes Craven film The People Under the Stairs. Rhames became a pop culture icon in 1994 when he played L.A. crime lord Marsellus Wallace in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction where he starred with the likes of Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta.

In the 2000s, Ving starred in three films which were both remakes of popular horror movies of the 1970s and 80s. In 2004, he played a police officer named Kenneth in Zack Snyder's remake of George Romero's Dawn of the Dead. In 2008, Ving played a soldier named Captain Rhodes in the remake of Day of the Dead. In 2010, he played yet another authority figure, Deputy Fallon, in Alexandre Aja's 3D remake of Joe Dante's Piranha. He also appeared in the 2011 sequel, Piranha 3DD.
