Thom Mathews is an American film actor born in Los Angeles, California on November 28th, 1958. He was predominantly active during the 1980s and has cemented himself as an important actor in the horror genre, owing largely to his contributions to the Friday the 13th and Return of the Living Dead film franchises.
Thom's first major film work was in 1985 when he played hapless morgue attendant Freddy in the zombie comedy The Return of the Living Dead. Although his character dies at the end of the film (not really a spoiler; EVERYBODY dies by the end of that film), Thom returned to the series for it's 1988 sequel, Return of the Living Dead Part II, this time playing a character named Joey. Thom's part in that film was greatly diminished compared to the first movie.
Between the two films, Thom played the role of mentally scarred serial killer survivor Tommy Jarvis in the 1986 movie Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. He is the third and final actor to play the character, following in the footsteps of Corey Feldman in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter and John Shepherd in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning.
