The Possessed is an American television movie of the demonic possession subgenre. It was directed by Jerry Thorpe and written by John Sacret Young. It was produced by Warner Bros. Television and first aired on NBC on May 1st, 1977. The film stars James Farentino, Claudette Nevins, Eugene Roche and sci-fi icon Harrison Ford. The plot of the film involves a priest who tries to exorcise a demonic spirit from a student at a girl's boarding school.

  • The boarding school featured in this film is actually Reed College in Portland, Oregon. This locations was also used for the 2007 films Feast of Love and Into the Wild.
  • Other credited actors who appear in the film include Lawrence Bame, James R. Parkes and Catherine Cunneff. The characters they play are unknown.
  • Stephanie Barton-Farcas is uncredited for her participation in this film.
  • Many may feel that this film was the most important piece of work that Harrison Ford did in 1977. However, he did participate in a little known sci-fi/fantasy film called Star Wars. Few ever heard of it and it did little to further Ford's acting career.
