The Borrower is an American horror film of the science fiction subgenre. It was directed by John McNaughton and written by Mason Nage and Richard Fire. It premiered in New York City, New York on October 19th, 1991. The movie stars Rae Dawn Chong as Diana Pierce, Don Gordon as Charles Krieger and Tom Towles as Bob Laney. The premise of the film involves an alien serial killer who comes to Earth and begins randomly slaughtering people. When his physical form begins to lose cohesion, he tries to blend in with the general populace by "borrowing" people's skins.

- Director John McNaughton is best known for his 1986 psycho-thriller film Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. A television commercial for the film can be heard in the hospital scene in The Borrower.
- This is the final film work for actor Don Gordon. He also appeared in Omen III: The Final Conflict and The Exoricst III.
- Characters can be seen watching scenes from The Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie, which was released in 1987.
- This film has been referenced in the 1999 Oscar-winning film American Beauty.
