Terror Firmer is an American independent horror film of the slasher and comedy genres. It was directed by Lloyd Kaufman and written by Patrick Cassidy and Douglas Buck based on the 1998 book All I Need to Know about Filmmaking I Learned from the Toxic Avenger by Lloyd Kaufman and James Gunn. The movie was produced by Troma Entertainment and premiered on June 20th, 1999. The film stars Lloyd Kaufman as a fictionalized version of himself named Larry Benjamin - a blind movie director whose crew tries to make a movie, but finds their set besieged by a sexually awkward serial killer. Terror Firmer is intended as a salute to the history of Kaufman's work with Troma and the film is peppered with numerous tributes to Troma's extensive film catalog.
This is the final horror film work for actor Martin Cassidy.
Actor, director and producer Eli Roth makes a cameo appearance in the film as a shocked onlooker.
South Park creator Trey Parker and Matt Stone make cameo appearances in the film. Lloyd Kaufman has cast them in previous films even before they became famous such as Tales from the Crapper. [4]
