- The story from this episode is adapted from the "This'll Kill You!" comic book story from issue #23 of Crime Suspense Stories, published in the summer of 1954.
- This is the only episode of Tales from the Crypt scored by Ira Newborn. He is also known for composing the 1992 John Landis vampire film Innocent Blood.
