"The Switch" is the second episode of season two of the horror anthology series Tales from the Crypt and the eighth episode of the series overall. It was directed by Arnold Schwarzenegger and written by Michael Taav and Richard Tuggle. It first aired on HBO on April 21st, 1990. In this episode, actor William Hickey plays Carlton Webster, a wealthy and eccentric old man who has fallen in love with a much younger woman. In order to be more physically appealing to her, he engages in a process that transplants his mind into the body of a younger, well-built, handsome man.
This episode marks the directorial debut of bodybuilder, actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger is best known for his action/sci-fi roles of the 1980s and 1990s, particularly his contributions to the Conan, Predator and Terminator franchises. Schwarzenegger played the role of Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer" in the 1987 sci-fi/horror movie Predator.
