Takeshi Furusawa is a Japanese film director and screenplay writer. His first professional film work was as an assistant director on the 1999 Japanese drama Ôinaru gen'ei. In the year 2001, he worked as an assistant to director Kiyoshi Kurosawa on the movie Pulse. Pulse was remade in 2006, under the same title and was directed by Jim Sonzero.

Takeshi's directorial debut came three years later in 2004 when he wrote and directed Rosuto mai wei, or, Lost My Way. Furusawa's next work in the horror genre was directly the 2006 ghost thriller Otoshimono, a movie about two friends who experience bizarre spectral phenomena following a train accident. Otoshimono came out during a time when Japanese horror had found a stable niche in the Western market, particularly due to the success of films like The Ring and Ju-on: The Grudge.

In 2008, he wrote and directed Towairaito shindorômu: Deddo kurûzu, translated as Twiglight Syndrome: Dead Cruise, which bears no relation to the popular teen vampire series The Twilight Saga.
