Notes & Trivia Edit
- First appearance of the demon Ruby. She will make recurring appearances throughout the series.
- First work on the series for consulting producer Laurence Andries. He will work on the next twelve episodes of Supernatural.
- The title of this episode is taken from the 1960 American Western film The Magnificent Seven directed by John Sturges. It is largely considered the first of what has come to be known as the "revisionist Western" film type in American cinema. That movie is a partial remake of Akira Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai, which was released in 1954. Whereas in the films, the "Seven" refer to either samurai or gunfighters, in the Supernatural episode, they refer to the Seven Deadly Sins.
