Steven Ernest Bernard Zaillian is an American film screenwriter, producer and director. He was born in Fresno, California on January 30th, 1953. As a writer, he got his start in the industry in 1985, but was most prolific during the 1990s and 2000s. Steven's first work in the horror genre was co-writing the 2001 psycho-thriller film Hannibal along with David Mamet.
Steven's first work as a screenwriter was on The Falcon and the Snowman in 1985.
Co-wrote Schindler's List, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring The Haunting actor Liam Neeson. He also worked on Gangs of New York, which also featured Neeson in a brief role.
Steven's first work as a producer was in 1998 where he was an executive producer on A Civil Action starring John Travolta, which he also directed and wrote.
