Sssssss is an American feature film of the predatory animal and science fiction genres. It was directed by Bernard L. Kowalski with a script written by Hal Dresner and Dan Striepeke. It was produced by Universal Pictures and released theatrically in July, 1973. Science runs amok in Sssssss as Strother Martin plays scientist Doctor Carl Stoner, whose experiments on young David Blake, played by Dirk Benedict, turn him into a snake man! The movie also stars Heather Menzies as Doctor Stoner's daughter, Kristina Stoner, Richard B. Shull as Doctor Ken Daniels, Tim O'Connor as Kogen, Jack Ging as Sheriff Dale Hardison, and Kathleen King as Kitty Stewart.

  • All of the reptiles seen in this film are real. King cobras were imported from Bangkok and the python was brought in from Singapore. This is addressed on a title card at the beginning of the film.
  • This movie marks the acting debut of Reb Brown.
  • Actors Dirk Benedict and Tim O'Connor are both known for their work in the science fiction genre. Benedict will go on to play Lieutenant Starbuck in the 1978 TV series Battlestar Galactica, while Tim O'Connor will go on to play Doctor Elias Huer on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Both Benedict and O'Connor will work together on the "Semi-Friendly Persuasion" episode of The A-Team.
