Sharon Smyth is a retired American television actress born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 29th, 1957. She played a character named Sarah Collins on the 1960s gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. Her character was originally introduced as a ghost in 1967 in episode 255. She became a central plot device for the storylines of that season, ultimately leading into an overarching story known as the "1795 Flashback". During the 1795 Flashback, Smyth's character was presented as a living human being. She appeared in 36 episodes of the series in total, plus one episode where she provided her voice only. She appeared as Sarah Collins in six episodes and was credited as the Ghost of Sarah Collins in 30 episodes.
