Robert Wiene was a German filmmaker born in Breslau, Silesia on April 24th, 1873. He was an important figure in the silent era days of German expressionism and is best known for his 1920 film Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari or, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
Robert Weine passed away in Paris, France on July 17th, 1938 at the age of 65.
