Rae Dawn Chong is a Canadian film and television actress. She was born in Edmonton, Alberta on February 28th, 1961. Her first work in the horror genre was playing a gargoyle named Carola in the "Lover's Vow" vignette from the 1990 anthology film Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. In 1991, she had the lead role in John McNaughton's sci-fi comedy The Borrower where she played Diana Pierce. In 1995 she played psychic Rose Orwetto in Hideaway starring Jeff Goldblum and Jeremy Sisto. Her first genre television work was in 1997 when she played Tanya Moreau in the "Spirit Thief" episode of the Showtime series Poltergeist: The Legacy. Rae's half-sister, Robbi Chong, was one of the regular cast members on that series.
