Patti LuPone is an American film and television actress. She was born in Northport, Long Island, New York on April 21st, 1949. Although her acting career began in the mid-1970s, her first work in the horror genre wasn't until 2001 when she played Mrs. Lovett in the television movie version of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (not to be confused with the big-budget Tim Burton version starring Johnny Depp).

In 2013, Patti LuPone had a recurring role on the FX Network television series American Horror Story. She appeared in season three of the series, which was billed under the serial title, "Coven". She played the role of Joan Ramsey - a Christian fundamentalist who somehow manages to move in next-door to a school of witches. She appeared in four episodes of the series, beginning with 3x03, "The Replacements".
