Michael Badilino, also known as Vengeance, is a fictional comic book character featured in titles published by Marvel Comics. He is a recurring antagonist who appears in Ghost Rider, Volume 3. He was introduced in Ghost Rider, Vol. 3 #21 in January, 1992.
Overview[]
Michael Badilino was a police detective operating out of Brooklyn, New York. Michael suffered great tragedy when his father went insane, murdering his wife and other children. The cause of his father's insanity originated with the former spirit of vengeance, Johnny Blaze. Though Badilino could not have known this at the time, Blaze's actions were the result of manipulation by the arch-demon, Mephisto.
Michael Badilino summoned Mephisto himself and agreed to become his newest Spirit of Vengeance in order to get revenge upon Johnny Blaze. Mephisto obliged and used his power to transform Badilino into Vengeance.
