Teen Wolf 1x02 001

Scott McCall, werewolf lacrosse player.

Lacrosse is a team sport of Native American origin played using a small rubber ball and a long-handled stick called a crosse or lacrosse stick, mainly played in the United States and Canada. It is a contact sport which requires padding. The head of the lacrosse stick is strung with loose mesh designed to catch and hold the lacrosse ball. Offensively, the objective of the game is to score by shooting the ball into an opponent's goal, using the lacrosse stick to catch, carry, and pass the ball to do so. Defensively, the objective is to keep the opposing team from scoring and to dispossess them of the ball through the use of stick checking and body contact or positioning. The sport has four major types: men's field lacrosse, women's lacrosse, box lacrosse and intercrosse.

Lacrosse is prominently featured in the MTV supernatural teen drama series Teen Wolf. The main character from the series Scott McCall is a player, and later co-captain of the lacrosse team at Beacon Hills High School. The other co-captain for the school's team is Jackson Whittemore, who is Scott's rival in nearly everything. The coach of the team is the acerbic and slightly off-kilter Bobby Finstock. While Scott may very well be the very first werewolf to ever serve on a lacrosse team, he is not the only one. Isaac Lahey and a black student named Boyd are also werewolves, as well as members of a pack under the leadership of Derek Hale. All three of them have used their enhanced physical prowess to give them an extra edge on the field. Scott even used his heightened olfactory senses to suss out Isaac's presence before first realizing he was a werewolf. He also had to calm Boyd down from accidentally revealing his true nature.
