Kurt Paul is a film actor and stuntman. His first credited film work was in 1979 with the movie Skatetown, U.S.A. His first work in the horror genre was in 1987 when he played infamous serial killer Norman Bates in a brief flashback scene in the 1987 Richard Rothstein television movie Bates Motel. Never straying too far from this franchise, Paul also did stunt work on the 1983 film Psycho II and it's 1986 sequel Psycho III. Paul then went on to play a character with the satirical name Paul Bearer in the 1990 film The Ghost Writer, though his scenes were deleted. This movie starred original Psycho madman Anthony Perkins, whom Paul would work again with in the third sequel to the franchise, Psycho IV: The Beginning. He played a character named Raymond Linette in that film.

In addition to either playing a character named Norman Bates, or associating with characters by that name, Kurt Paul also played a character named Norman Baines in the "Halloween Night" episode of Knight Rider. He had a recurring role on the 1980s sitcom series Sledge Hammer! as Coroner Norman Blates.

In 1984, Kurt Paul played an intern in the two-part episode of the action series The A-Team entitled "The Bend in the River". The following year he appeared in the "Ordinary Hero" episode of Cagney & Lacey, though it is unknown which character he played.

In 1994, Kurt Paul appeared in the television movie Galaxy Beat where he played a bartender. In 1996 he played a cabbie in Fugitive X: Innocent Target. He played Detective Garvin in the TV movie A Passion in 2001 and in 2005 he played Sheriff Tillam in the Jim Fitzpatrick film Supernatural (not to be confused with the CW Network television series of the same name).
