Kent Smith was an American film actor. He was born in New York City, New York on March 19th, 1907 and died on April 23rd, 1985 in Woodland Hills, California at the age of 78. In the horror genre, Kent is best known for playing the leading role of Oliver Reed in Cat People in 1942 and its sequel, The Curse of the Cat People in 1944. In 1972, he played D.A. Paine in the television movie The Night Stalker, which was a back-door pilot for the Kolchak: The Night Stalker television series.
