Biography[]

Ken Douglas was once a criminal justice teacher at John Jay, but also worked as a police investigator. One of his more notable students during his teaching days was Caitlin Murphy.

In 1997, Ken Douglas was reunited with Caitlin when he was made her partner, following the violent murder of her previous partner, Mark Leung. The captain of the 5th Precinct hoped that partnering Caitlin with her old mentor might keep her level-headed while investigating her old partner's murder.

Ken and Caitlin first began working an angle involving a shoot-out between Mark Leung and a member of the Triad in Chinatown. On the night in question, the Triad member had a meeting with one Arthur Meserve - founder of Meserve International. It was Caitlin's belief that Meserve had gotten involved in the human trafficking business, and was in the market to purchase "stock" from the Triads. Ken and Caitlin went to the Meserve International corporate office, but were unable to gain an audience with the elusive Arthur Meserve.

The two detectives then responded to a violent outbreak taking place at The Dragon Restaurant. They arrived just in time to see a man come crashing out of an upper window and run off across the nearby rooftops. [1]
