Kôji Suzuki is a Japanese novelist born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka on May 13th, 1957. He is best known for writing the 1991 horror novel Ringu, which was adapted into a film in 1998 by Hideo Nakata called Ringu. The film spawned several sequels, as well as a remake series entitled The Ring, the first of which was directed by Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinksi.

Kôji Suzuki also wrote the novel Honogurai Mizu No Soko Kara, which was made into a movie in 2005 called Dark Water.

Suzuki wrote a short story, which was adapted into the "Dream Cruise" episode of the US anthology series Masters of Horror in 2007. The episode was directed by Norio Tsuruta.
