Joseph Zito is an American film director born in New York City, New York on May 14th, 1946. Although best known for directing action films (usually starring Chuck Norris), Zito has also directed two films in the horror genre. In 1981, he directed and produced The Prowler. In 1984, Zito had the distinction of being the first director to "kill" infamous hockey-masked serial killer Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.
