James Forsythe is a fictional ghost and a recurring antagonist featured on the original ABC Gothic soap opera series Dark Shadows, created by Dan Curtis. Although the character lived during the mid-late 17th century, he is associated with an internal narrative colloquially referred to as the "1841 Parallel Time" storyline. The character was played by actor Keith Prentice and introduced in episode 1222 in March, 1971. He appeared on the show as a possessing entity and made eight appearances on the series in total possessing the body of another character, Morgan Collins.
