Jackson is the capital city of the US state of Mississippi. It is one of two county seats of Hinds County and was incorporated in the year 1822. Jackson has a total land area of 104.9 square miles and a population of more than 230,000 people.
Jackson, Mississippi played a major role in season three of the HBO horror series True Blood. In the show, the character of Russell Edgington was the vampire "king" of Mississippi and was based out of a lavish plantation home in Jackson. He was attended by vampire lover, Talbot Angelis. Russell's henchman were a pack of werewolves, whose loyalty he commanded by giving them copious amounts of vampire blood, which enhanced their strength and senses. Aside from the Edgington mansion, one of the other notable points of interest from the series was Lou Pines, a country style pub that catered exclusively to werewolves. The name is taken from the phrase lupine, which is Latin for wolf.
