In the show, the character of Russell Edgington was the vampire "king" of Mississippi and was based out of a lavish plantation home in Jackson. He was attended by vampire lover, Talbot Angelis. Russell's henchman were a pack of werewolves, whose loyalty he commanded by giving them copious amounts of vampire blood, which enhanced their strength and senses. Aside from the Edgington mansion, one of the other notable points of interest from the series was Lou Pines, a country style pub that catered exclusively to werewolves.
