Ichi the Killer (殺し屋1, Koroshiya Ichi) is a 2001 Japanese film directed by Takashi Miike, based on Hideo Yamamoto's manga series of the same name. After his boss is brutally murdered, a masochistic gangster named Kakihara embarks on a blood hunt for a mysterious killer known only as "Ichi". After sifting through piles of mutilated bodies, the trail ends on a tormented youngster whose shy demeanor hides a disturbed passion.
