Hideo Yamamoto is an Asian cinematographer born in Gifu, Japan in 1960. His first work in the horror genre was on the 1999 film Ringu 2. In 2000, he was the director of photography on Tomie: Replay. In 2001 he worked as DP on Takashi Miike's Ichi the Killer. In 2004, he worked on the remake of Takashi Shimizu's Ju-on: the Grudge which had the shortened title of simply The Grudge.
