Graveyard Shift is an adaptation of a short story by author Stephen King. It was first published in the October1970 issue of Cavalier magazine, and later collected in King's 1978 collection Night Shift.
This movie is not to be confused with Graveyard Shift, which was a 1987 movie about a vampire taxicab driver.
The central setting of this film is Maine in the present day. The movie was also filmed in parts of Brewer, Bangor, and Harmony, Maine. Scenes of the textile mill were filmed at Bartlettyarns Inc., which is a yarn mill in Harmony.
