Grandpa Hugo was a member of the sadistic Firefly family and lived in the town of Deadwood during the late 1970s. Although he shared in his family's mania, he appeared to be one of the more level-headed members of the group, albeit with an acerbic personality.
Grandpa Hugo criticized Mother Firefly for making her dinner guests wear macabre masks during their meal. After dinner however, Grandpa delighted in entertaining their guests by hosting "Showtime", an impromptu stage performance featuring Baby Firefly in a Vaudeville act.
