Entomology is the study of insects. Like several of the other fields that are categorized within zoology, entomology is a taxon-based category; any form of scientific study in which there is a focus on insect related inquiries is, by definition, entomology. Insects account for more than two-thirds of all known organisms on the planet Earth. Those who study entomology are called entomologists.
Entomophobia is a common fear of or aversion to insects and similar arthropods, and even other terrestrial invertebrate animals, such as worms. It is sometimes referred to as Insectophobia as well. Commonly, this condition might be referred to as the "fear of insects or bugs". This condition causes a slight to severe emotional reaction, a form of anxiety or a panic attack. It is a particular case of specific phobias, all of which have basically the same causes (differing mostly in the source of phobia) and similar choices of treatments. Entomophobia was demonstrated in the 1982 anthology film Creepshow. In the fifth vignette, "They're Creeping Up on You", the character of Upson Pratt comes face to face with his worst fears in his desperate attempts to rid himself of a horde of cockroaches. The third episode of the FEARnet web series Fear Clinic was titled "Entomophobia" and focused on a young woman named Jackie and her severe aversion to insects and spiders (which is called Arachnophobia).
Exorcism is the practice of evicting demons or other spiritual entities from a person or place which they are believed to have possessed by causing the entity to swear an oath. The term became prominent in early Christianity from the early second century onward as the casting out of demons. Nevertheless, the practice is quite ancient and part of the belief system of many cultures and religions.
