Glendale is a city located in Los Angeles County in the US state of California. Glendale is home to many fine horror genre professionals, the most infamous of which is Robert Englund - best known for playing wise-cracking dream demon Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Englund was born on June 6th, 1947.

Silver Screen era director Erle C. Kenton, best known for helming classic Universal Pictures films such as Ghost of Frankenstein, House of Frankenstein and House of Dracula, passed away in Glendale on January 28th, 1980.

Composer Chris Boardman was born in Glendale on April 29th, 1953. He is known for arranging the film scores for movies such as Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood and Stigmata.

Actor Michael Kirst was born in Glendale, California on December 29th, 1972. He played the role of Deputy Fykes in the 2002 direct-to-video film Sisterhood of the Shewolf.
