Friday the 13th: Killer Cut is the widecreen retail release of the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th. It was released on June 16th, 2009 on both DVD and Blu-ray. The DVD included the extended theatrical cut of the film as well an offer for a digital copy of the movie for Windows media, which expired on November 15th, 2009. Special features on the DVD included "Additional slashed scenes" and "The Rebirth of Jason Voorhees" documentary. The Blu-ray edition featured the same bonus features as the DVD as well as the high definition "Hacking Back/Slashing Forward: remembering the groundbreaking original movie" featurette.

Additional slashed scenes Edit

  • The first additional scene is an alternate sequence of Jason Voorhees' confrontation with Donnie the farmhand. In the theatrical release, Jason slashed Donnie's throat with a machete then found a hockey mask lying on the floor in a pile of debris. In the alternate scene, Donnie is wearing the hockey mask when he first encounters Jason. Jason decapitates him then pulls the hockey mask off of Donnie's severed head and puts it on.
  • The second scene is a deleted sequence which takes place at the Sheriff's office. It shows Officer Lund receiving a 911 call from Clay Miller about an emergency at the Sutton residence. This is the only scene in the film that features the character of Officer Lund. It is also the only scene that establishes the date of Friday the 13th. The date of Friday, June 13th is seen on a wall-mounted tear-away calendar above Officer Lund's death. This scene also establishes that Sutton is the surname of Trent, a spoiled rich kid who is killed by Jason later in the film.
  • The third cut is an extended sequence of Clay and Whitney's confrontation with Jason at the barn.
