Fresno is an American city located in the U.S. state of California. It is the county seat of Fresno County and is located in the center of the San Joaquin Valley, the southern portion of California's Central Valley. Actor Nestor Paiva was born in Fresno on June 30th, 1905. He played steamboat captain Lucas in The Creature from the Black Lagoon in 1954. Actor Sid Haig was born in Fresno on July 14th, 1939. He is probably best known for playing psychotic clown Captain Spaulding in House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, and 3 from Hell. Screenwriter Steven Zaillian, who wrote the adaptation of Hannibal in 2001, was born in Fresno on January 30th, 1953. 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was born in Fresno on December 5th, 1960.
