Female refers to one of two primary genders of all living organisms and even some non-living. Yes, even the undead have a gender. Females are defined by an XX chromosome as opposed to the XY chromosome possessed by those of the male gender. Those of the female gender are distinguished by a variety of physical and biochemical properties, the most obvious of which is the presence of internal genitalia, and enlarged mammaries. Nearly all living creatures, including various forms of plant life are either female or male, though there are some beings that exist that are either genderless or a combination of multiple genders known as hermaphrodites. Ewwww.
