Edward Dmytryk was a Canadian film director born in Grand Forks, British Columbia on September 4th, 1908. The son of Ukranian immigrants, Edward grew up in San Francisco and was primarily active during the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. His films were often of the adventure or western genres, but he did dip slightly into the horror genre with 1943's Captive Wild Woman.
