Donald Allan Wollheim was an author and editor of science fiction. He was born in New York City, New York on October 1st, 1914. Wollheim wrote the short story "Mimic", which was later adapted into a feature film in 1997 directed by Guillermo Del Toro. The film version however, only borrowed key plot points from the story, but was altogether an entirely different story.
