The movie was produced by Concorde Pictures and New Horizons and premiered in the United States on April 20th, 2004. The film stars Costas Mandylore, Matthew Borlenghi, Jane Longnecker, Bruce Weitz and Charles Napier. The premise of the film involves a large mutant dinosaur/crocodile hybrid, which was created by a company called Gereco and runs amok through the swamps consuming everything in it's path. Dinocroc marks the directorial debut of Kevin O'Neill, who is primarily a visual effects supervisor in film and television. He is also the co-founder of Visual Effects Studio Flat Earth Productions, Inc. Kevin O'Neill's next sci-fi/horror film as a director is Dinoshark in 2010.
This is the first science fiction work for writer Dan Acre. Dan also makes a cameo appearance in the film as a father. Dan was also the writer on the 2002 horror/comedy Slaughter Studios.
This is the first science fiction work for writer John Huckert. John was also the writer on the 2002 horror/comedy Slaughter Studios.
The original decapitation scene of Michael Banning was not included in the original release or television broadcasts of the film due to it's graphic nature. However, the scene remains intact (even if Michael does not) on the DVD release of the film.
