Time in the Great House on the Collinwood estate is held in suspension. Before it can go forward again, we must await the outcome of one person's perilous journey into the past; back to the year 1795. There, in the old Collins mansion, a strange, disenchanted and evil young girl has planned the destruction of Barnabas Collins.

Episode 371 of Dark Shadows was directed by Lela Swift and written by Gordon Russell. It first aired on Monday, November 27th, 1967. This episode is part of a storyline commonly referred to as the "1795 Flashback" story. In this episode, Barnabas Collins suffers an inexplicable seizure and must be confined to his bedroom. The Collins family bring in Doctor Thornton to examine him, but no one can possibly surmise that Barnabas' condition is a result of witchcraft. The perpetrator, Angelique Bouchard, feigns concern and expresses her sympathy to her mistress Josette.
