Daniel "Oz" Osbourne is a supporting character featured in the WB Network/UPN television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He has also appeared in various novel, comic book and video game adaptations of the series. Played by actor Seth Green, he was introduced in the season two episode "Inca Mummy Girl". Oz was a recurring character throughout seasons two through four, but left the show midway through season four when actor Seth Green decided to concentrate more time towards his film career.
Known primarily as "Oz", he is presented as an introverted and taciturn guitar player for a progressive rock band called Dingoes Ate My Baby. Oz's band were frequently found playing at Sunnydale's most popular night spot The Bronze. In addition to being a musician, Oz was also a werewolf. Oz became romantically tied with Sunnydale high school student Willow Rosenberg, but the two drifted apart after they graduated high school and began attending UC Sunnydale. He later became involved with a female werewolf named Veruca. Oz also became the target of a secret military unit called the Initiative who captured him and performed experiments upon him. He was rescued when one of the Intiative commandos, Riley Finn, turned against his unit to help Oz. Shortly thereafter, Oz left Sunnydale.
