A coffee shop, or coffee house, is a place of business that primarily sells trendy over-priced coffee. They are popular amongst hipsters and douche bags. An employee who prepares and serves your coffee is called a barista, which is a fancy way of saying "a person who can make the little foam heart on the surface of your mocha latté".
