Charles "Chuck" Russell is an American film producer, director and writer born in Park Ridge, Illinois on May 9th, 1952. His first work in the horror field was working as a line producer on the 1980 film The Hearse. In 1981, he teamed up with Joseph Wolf as co-executive producer on the haunted house movie Hell Night. Three years later, Russell wrote the screenplay for the sci-fi/horror film Dreamscape. Ironically, this would not be the only time that he would work with such subject matter. Only three years later in 1987, Russell made his directorial debut helming the third installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. The following year, he directed the 1988 remake of The Blob. In 2000, Russell directed the paranormal Omenesque film Bless the Child.
